Salena Boone

Director of Talent Development
Everyone deserves respect and a roof over their heads. My personal philosophies are entirely rooted in being of and for community. At a time of such individualism/me & mine thinking in the world (“what’s in it for me” thinking), MidPen, at its core, is rooted in being opposed to that way of thinking.

Salena directs MidPen’s Talent Development strategy. She focuses on building a culture of continuous learning and growth by designing impactful learning initiatives and collaborating with leaders to align development efforts with MidPen’s goals. Her work supports both individual advancement and organizational excellence.

Prior to MidPen, Salena held leadership roles in learning and development at California’s Great America, Pet Food Express, and Specialty’s Café & Bakery. Over the years, she has built high-potential programs, led performance system overhauls, and implemented tools that support career mapping and leadership development.

Salena is proud to help foster a workplace where people are supported, challenged, and set up to succeed.

She finds the most rewarding part of her role is knowing that investing in employees ultimately supports MidPen’s mission: providing stable homes and better futures for residents.

Outside of work, she enjoys painting, sketching, traveling, and curling up on the couch with her dog to watch true crime shows and History Channel favorites like The Food That Built America.
